Purpose

From world events to decision-useful research.

Hergemony Research Briefs are the institute's concise analytical publications. Each brief begins with a material development or structural question and follows its transmission through the global system: from physical and human conditions, through politics and policy, into industries, companies, financial statements and capital markets.

The objective is not to predict headlines or promote an investment narrative. It is to identify what matters, why it matters, where the effects may appear, what evidence supports the thesis, and what would invalidate it.

Research Standard

A repeatable analytical framework

01

Investment Conclusion

State the central finding early and distinguish strategic importance from investment attractiveness.

02

Evidence & Transmission

Use primary evidence where possible and trace how a development reaches economies, industries and companies.

03

Company Fundamentals

Test the theme against revenue, margins, cash flow, balance sheets, capital intensity and competitive position.

04

Valuation & Scenarios

Separate company quality from security price and examine conditional outcomes rather than relying on a single forecast.

05

Catalysts & Invalidation

Define the evidence that would strengthen, weaken or overturn the research thesis.

06

Research Record

Preserve the original thesis and review it over time so the research process itself can be tested and improved.

Methodology

Fact. Analysis. Thesis. Uncertainty.

Fact refers to externally verifiable information. Analysis is Hergemony's interpretation of that evidence. A thesis is a proposition to be tested rather than treated as permanent truth. Uncertainty and invalidation conditions are stated because institutional research should make clear not only what is believed, but what could change that view.

Research Briefs use public information and are analytical publications, not personal financial advice. Company inclusion is for research purposes and does not by itself constitute a recommendation to buy or sell a security.

Research question

As strategic competition reshapes technology and supply chains while AI investment expands into the physical economy, where does scarcity translate into durable earnings, cash flow and returns on capital?

The inaugural brief examines two different forms of scarcity. NVIDIA represents advanced compute and the interaction between extraordinary AI demand and geopolitical market constraints. Freeport-McMoRan provides a physical-economy case study in copper, capital intensity, commodity sensitivity and strategic resource demand.

Hergemony Hour→Research Brief→Hergemony Trends→Capital Application→Research Review

The Hergemony Hour identifies and debates the month's strategic questions. Research Briefs test those questions against evidence and company fundamentals. Hergemony Trends tracks recurring patterns across time. Capital research applies relevant findings to investment analysis, while subsequent review measures what the original research got right, wrong or left unresolved.
